September 28th is National Coffee Day
Coffee plants are cultivated in the equatorial regions of the Americas, Southeast Asia, India, and Africa. Dried coffee seeds (referred to as "beans") are roasted to produce the desired flavor. Roasted beans are ground and brewed with near-boiling water to produce the beverage known as coffee.
I love coffee and all the seemingly endless choices that come along with it. Whether it is served cold, hot, frozen, blended, pressed, or slow dripped, everyone has their favorite(s). A hot cup coffee with flavored creamer can be tough to beat on a cold winter day. On hot summer days, I love a large iced French vanilla latte from Dunkin’ Donuts.
Aside from adding flavors and creamers, coffee itself can be flavored. I received a Keurig machine and assorted K-cups For Christmas last year. So far I have tried oatmeal cookie, peanut butter and jelly, chocolate mousse, and sugar cookie flavors. Not only were they all delicious, they also smelled wonderful while they were brewing.
If you are a coffee lover like me, be sure to visit your favorite coffeeshop on September 28th. Numerous businesses are offering discounts for their coffee loving customers. Enjoy!
