The National September 11 Memorial & Museum honors the 2,983 people killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993. It also stands as memorial to those who risked their lives saving others and all who demonstrated extraordinary compassion in the aftermath of the attacks.
The names of 2,983 people surrounds the twin Memorial pools.
The Memorial pools are located in the footprints of the Twin Towers.
