For the past decade, Don Hummer Trucking has used Wellmark Blue Cross, Blue Shield for our employee health benefits. For the past few years, rising costs have become a concern. The past three years, Don Hummer Trucking has paid for the cost of the increased premiums in an effort to keep our employee's cost the same.
2017 renewal was no different. Don Hummer Trucking received a significant premium increase from Wellmark and as a result, made the move to Health Partners for all employee health benefits. Health Partners provided an increase of 4% over the previous year but still a significant savings from the Wellmark proposal. Don Hummer Trucking has again paid the 4% increase so that employees don't incur any increase in premiums.
Health Partners has made this change uneventful and very easy. Here are some tips as you transition you and your family to the Health Partners coverage:
- Last week you received a large envelope in the mail from Health Partners. Please read its contents carefully.
- The previous provider had one insurance card for all family members all with the name of the employee. Health Partners has a slightly different process. You should have received an insurance card for each member enrolled in coverage. If you failed to receive a card for a dependent you intended to cover, please contact Human Resources for resolution.
- The Health Partners network is expansive. To search for a provider by zip code or city please follow this link. Please scroll down after you open your browser to see the search results.
- Make a visit to our Rolling Strong wellness coach, LeAnn. She would love to discuss your goals for 2017 and beyond as it relates to your health and wellness.
Please contact Human Resources with any questions at 319-828-2167. Don Hummer Trucking is looking forward to our new partnership with Health Partners in 2017!
