Three Don Hummer Trucking employees – Brad James, Andrea Prymek, and Erin Shoup - took advantage of a new opportunity at Kirkwood Community College: a Transportation Certification program.
For 8 hours a week, over the course of 3 weeks, these employees learned about the transportation industry in general, with a strong focus on trucking. Class participants listened to speakers from various sectors of the industry, had the opportunity to drive a semi, take part in a pre-trip inspection, and understand all that it takes to be a successful truck driver, as well as a successful trucking company.
The employees had nothing but good things to say about the program. They felt they came away with a much fuller understanding of the industry, and a stronger appreciation for what it takes to be a truck driver.
