Held annually since 1958, the State Center Rose Festival celebrates the history and charm of the beautiful town of State Center, Iowa and historic Rose Garden. Nestled near the center of the state, State Center is the perfect setting to be known as the “Rose Capitol of Iowa” and host to this tradition. Each year during the third weekend in June, the town comes alive as current residents host those who have moved away, those who are just passing through, and anyone interested in a weekend full of fun, family-centered entertainment.
This year Don Hummer Trucking had one of our new units in the Grand Parade on Saturday morning with Mike McDonald from our maintenance department driving in his hometown celebration on the 30th anniversary of his graduation from West Marshall High School in State Center. Rain showers just before and just after the parade but for the nearly 2 hour long parade the weather was clear and a great time we had by everyone!
