The National Advanced Driving Simulator (NADS) is committed to reducing crashes, fatalities, and their related costs by studying the causes of crashes and technologies that can be used to prevent them. We are currently conducting a study that may eventually lead to new technology that has a tremendous potential to aid in this effort. We are still seeking individuals for this heavy truck study. Data collection will soon be coming to a close, and your help is needed to assist us in this effort as we need to recruit at least an additional 40 truck drivers with a Class-A CDL.
Additionally, this is a unique opportunity for truck drivers to experience the most advanced driving simulator in the United States while aiding in improving safety on our roadways. Our schedule May 7th-May 16th offers times starting at 9:00am every half hour until 7:00pm, Monday-Friday, and times 9:00am every half hour until 2:00pm on Saturdays. Appointments on Saturdays must be made by 7:00 pm the day before. Drivers do get paid for their time - $75 for 1-1.5 hours of their time (a rate of $50/hr).
Interested individuals can contact Rose directly at 319-335-4666 or call the recruitment line at 319-335-4719. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dr. Timothy Brown at 319-335-4785 or timothy-l-brown@uiowa.edu. Thank you again for your assistance.
