Tractors
Our company tractors are all late-model International tractors. We replace all tractors on a 4-year rotation and have upgraded to the 2006 and 2007 model years. Our tractor specifications are designed to provide a smooth, safe ride with good fuel utilization. They are equipped with ISX Cummins engines, 10 speed Ultrashift automated transmissions and air-ride suspension.
Trailers
We maintain a 2:1 trailer to tractor ratio – all are 53’ air-ride equipped. Our fleet makeup is three-fourths dry van (plate trailers with wood floors) and one-fourth reefers. All trailers are less than 10 years old, weather resistant and in good condition. We protect our loaded trailers with kingpin locks when unattended. This ensures that the trailer cannot be hooked onto an unauthorized tractor. All trailers have cargo securement equipment.
Communication Equipment
All of our company tractors are equipped with MobileMax global satellite positioning units from GeoLogic. Each tractor is “pinged” every hour, 24/7, and the location is downloaded into our dispatch operations system. We also send dispatch load information and other messages to our driver via the satellite. Our owner/operators are in communication through the use of cell phones. We can pinpoint the location of any load within minutes.
Maintenance Program
We have a maintenance facility in Oxford, IA. All preventive maintenance and many repairs are completed there. Please check out our vehicle safety record (VHSEA) on the DOT website, SafeStat . Our US DOT # is 307512.
